In all previous instances of the Star Lager sponsored football TV show Star Football Superfans, Arsenal fans were yet to lose a game where they made an appearance.
This week’s episode witnessed a change of fortune for them as they lost their SuperFan status to All Stars FC, a team made of supporters of various clubs.
Perhaps a little cocky in the light of their pedigree on the show, the quintet, Agholor Petersen, Marious Ani, Goodie Ofose, Okoloko Papa and Segun Onalaja even nicknamed themselves The Invincibles, no doubt paying homage to the legendary Arsenal team of 2003-2004 that went unbeaten for an entie season.
Sadly, the events that followed didn’t favour them as they lost the first half of the contest to their opponent. A goalless second half followed, and they found themselves needing a goal from the Debate segment to stay in the game. Sadly, Segun’s flat performance handed the goal to All Stars FC who ended up taking the Show Your Passion segment as well to finish the game with the score at 3-0.
All Stars’ strategically brilliant performance got them the star prize of N1m and the Superfan bragging rights while The Invincibles went home with the N100, 000 consolation prize.
Star Football Superfans TV kicked off ten weeks ago and it will run for another five, weeks delivering top quality excitement to football lovers across the country. The game show is the latest in a string of customer reward platforms by STAR as it continues to reaffirm its industry leadership position as a customer favourite.
