Police Arrests 60 Boko Haram Suspects

Boko-Haram-Suspects

Police authorities in Chad have arrested 60 Boko Haram suspects in connection with an attack that killed dozens of people and wounded more than 100 others in June in the capital, N’Djamena.

The suspects include men and women from Nigeria, Cameroon and Mali. The June 15 attack was the first of its kind on N’Djamena and came following threats from Boko Haram.

Chad prosecutor Alghassim Khamis, who confirmed the arrest on Sunday, said debris recovered from the scene permitted officials to determine that the attackers wore explosive vests made of special black fabric.

He noted  that one of the suicide bombers has been identified and officials are working on identifying the other two.
