The young girl is said to have blown herself up in the place of worship on Thursday, July 2, 2015, in Malari village.

Female suicide bombers are on the increase in Nigeria

“The bomber was a girl aged around 15 who was seen around the mosque when worshippers were preparing for the afternoon prayers,” local vigilante Danlami Ajaokutasaid adding that 12 people had died and seven others were left injured in the attack.

“People asked her to leave because she had no business there and they were not‎ comfortable with her in view of the spate of suicide attacks by female Boko Haram members,” he added.
“She made to leave‎ but while the people were inside the mosque for the prayers she ran from a distance into the mosque and blew herself up,” Ajaokuta said.

This comes barely 24 hours after Boko Haram terrorists killed least 145 people in three Borno villages while they were observing the holy month of Ramadan.
